People + Organizations Working for Change

Faunalytics

Faunalytics does original research that offers actionable and insightful data on topics related to plant-based living and animal welfare.

Good Food Institute

The Good Food Institute is a nonprofit think tank and international network of organizations working to accelerate alternative protein innovation.

Law, Ethics & Animals at Yale Law School

The Law, Ethics & Animals Program aims, first, to inspire impactful learning and scholarship about the deep legal, scientific and moral questions that humanity’s treatment of other animals raise. Second, the program aims to empower Yale scholars and students to produce positive legal and political change for animals, people, and the environment upon which they depend.

Meatless Mondays

The goal of Meatless Mondays is to reduce the consumption of meat. Period. You don’t have to follow a 100% plant-based diet to make a difference. Each time you choose to eat a plant-based meal rather than one with meat you are decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. Their recipes are A+!

People for Ethical Treatment of Animals

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is the largest animal rights organization in the world. The organization focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: in laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing trade, and in the entertainment business.

Project Drawdown

Project Drawdown’s mission is to help the world stop climate change – as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible. The organization does this by advancing effective, science-based climate solutions and strategies; fostering bold, new climate leadership; and promoting new climate narratives and new voices.

The Fork Rangers

The Fork Rangers are Mareike and Frank. When they discovered that one-third of all greenhouse gases come from food they decided to do something about it. Their mission is simple: Make it as easy as possible to eat for the climate. They use data and storytelling to show which choices matter most and develop easy recipes to put knowledge into action.

The Planted Society: Adding Plant-Based to Menus

The Planted Society created and runs Plant Based for the Planet, city-sponsored initiatives that highlight the environmental impact of our food choices. The organization collaborates with locally-owned restaurants to introduce plant-based specials, as a way to help each community lower its collective climate impact.
